Introduction

It is our pleasure to introduce the Florida Panhandle Shipwreck Trail press kit.

The Trail is sponsored by the Bureau of Archaeological Research, Division of Historical Resources, Florida Department of State and the Florida Public Archaeology Network in partnership with the waterfront communities in Northwest Florida. The twelve shipwrecks along the Trail were selected from a consensus of local dive shops and charter boat operators as the best destinations for various levels of diving. Visitors can obtain an official passport from our partners, the dive shops and charter boats of the Florida Panhandle. After completing each shipwreck dive, the passport will be validated with a sticker, encouraging divers to visit all twelve sites and complete the trail.
